Dear Reader,
Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
The Ministry of Mines has issued a draft notification, known as the Tin Ingot (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order is proposed to take effect six months after its notification in the E-Gazette. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their comments within 60 days of the notification.
Tin ingots must adhere to Indian Standard IS 26:2024 and bear the Standard Mark, obtained under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This requirement aligns with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The BIS will act as the certifying and enforcing authority to ensure compliance with this order. Stay updated on these essential standards for tin ingots!
