The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued the "Electric Fence Energizers (Quality Control) Order, 2024," which will take effect on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Electric fence energizers must comply with Indian Standard IS 302-2-76:1999 and display the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. This requirement will be enforced six months from the date of publication for general implementation.

For Small Enterprises, as defined by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, compliance will be required nine months from the publication date. Micro Enterprises will have twelve months from the publication date to adhere to these standards.
