Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Dyed knitted or crochet fabric made from synthetic fibres (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
The Ministry of Textiles has released a draft notification titled the Dyed Knitted or Crochet Fabric Made from Synthetic Fibres (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order is set to take effect six months after its publication in the E-Gazette. Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments within 60 days of the notification. Dyed knitted or crochet fabric made from synthetic fibres must comply with Indian Standard IS 17777:2021 and feature the Standard Mark, issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Ensure your products meet these important quality standards! The BIS will act as the certifying and enforcing authority for compliance with this order.
