Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for Refined Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

BIS QCO for the Refined Nickel

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Mines has released a draft notification titled the Refined Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order is set to take effect six months after its publication in the E-Gazette. Stakeholders are invited to share their comments within 60 days of the notification.

WITHDRAWAL ORDER

Refined nickel must meet the Indian Standard IS 2782:2023 and display the Standard Mark, which is issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in line with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The BIS will act as the certifying and enforcing authority to ensure compliance with this order.
